CALGARY, AB: The Canadian Taxpayers Federation (CTF) released its second annual ‘Naughty & Nice to Taxpayers List’ today. The list puts ministers, associate ministers and other government MLAs in ‘naughty’ and ‘nice’ categories based on their achievements for and knocks against taxpayers.
“The CTF has been making a list and checking it twice, and by keeping a close watch on the government, we know which of them has been naughty and which of them has been nice,” said CTF Alberta Director Derek Fildebrandt.
Membership on the list is determined mostly by policies and a CTF examination of expense claims filed at expenses.alberta.ca.
“Last year we filed Freedom of Information (FOI) requests for the expenses of cabinet ministers. Now Alberta has a nation-leading expense disclosure policy in place that allows us to examine the expenses of most senior government officials with relative ease,” continued Fildebrandt.
